NanoBio

The Biomedical Nanotechnology (NanoBio) research group is a multidisciplinary group, which has been developing, since 2002, a new class of fluorescence markers based in nanocrystals, the Quantum Dots.  The main objective of the group is the development of nanoparticles for the study of biological events in cells and tissues. The use of quantum dots conjugated to biomolecules allied to fluorescence and confocal microscopy, and other fluorescence techniques, have opened new perspectives and allowed the monitoring of cellular events at molecular level, in real time.
